Back in Atlanta . . .

Photos by Drew!

Dress: Lyell for U.O.
Suede vest: thrift store
Shoes: Dolce Vita
Tights: Target
Flower comb: made by my sister Lauren

I've been back in Atlanta since Friday, but when I put this outfit together (yesterday--I sort of wore it two days in a row) I wanted to dress like I was in Tennessee still, so I added this suede vest I found at the thrift store last week.  Then Lauren made me the most wonderful black floral haircomb that reminds me of the flowers Karen Elson wears in her hair in the new Lula . . . it is really perfect (Lauren says she's going to start putting them in her Etsy store soon!).  I used to be obsessed with putting floral combs in my hair, but lately I've been scared of things that might be too cutesy or over-the-top girly.  I suppose that that Rachel Antonoff flowers-in-the-hair article in Lula changed my mind a little.  Also flowers that are just about the same color as your hair don't look so cutesy for some reason.  Plus when they're in black they look kind of tough/creepy silent film goth.

I guess the reason I'm rambling on so much about my outfit is because I don't have any exciting weekend stories to tell you.  Well, it was a great weekend, but it was filled with un-fashion blog things like bike rides and books--I'm so hooked on those dark-funny Flannery O'Connor stories that it made me even more anti-social than usual.  I didn't go to a single estate sale or thrift store, which was a relief, but after putting in lots of hours of fantasy shopping at sites I can't afford I guess I'm itching to get to the thrift stores again.

The contrast between your purple dress & the yellow leaves is so beautiful - this is one of my favorite of your blog photos. So autumny & vivid.

I love everything about these pictures. You always have the best sense of atmosphere for your photos. I'm guessing that you've gotten over the random people will see me phase of picture taking which allows for all of the amazing locations. Thanks for being so inspirational

Glad you made it back home safe. I'm really sorry to hear of your family troubles but hang in there. I love seeing you in those dark colors. Flannery O'connor is an amazing writer too. I love her stories.

i adore flannery o'connor! when i started reading wise blood i thought i'd get turned off by the dark and moody vibe, but i've come to really have a thing for stories set in the south.

i love the autumny pictures, by the way! the trees make your dress pop out like whoa!

You're the loveliest lady there is!!! These photos are gorgeous and fall perfection in every which way! That dress looks so adorable on you...I recently ordered it, and I'm so glad I did, if it looks half as nice on me as it does you!! I think my favorite part is the vest--it's the perfect little fall touch that makes this so, so wonderful! As always, you're the tops!!

I love this outfit, the colour suits you wonderfully! Autumn there looks lovely, it's already turned wintry here in England so it's nice to live fall vicariously.
