In midtown Atlanta there's this wonderful little neighborhood called The Prado, and it has a string of hidden parks that you can only get to by walking down steep and treacherous (if you're wearing heels) stone stairways--we've already taken photos there three times but it's so pretty that we keep going back to find new spots. It's the perfect place to go for photos when there's just not enough time to travel outside the city or it's way too hot for long trips.
That's why we went there yesterday, at least. Our day was packed full of things to do--first Drew and I went to a bakery to have brunch with some friends (I had a chocolate muffin!) and then we went to spend a few lazy hours at Barnes & Noble just to look at magazines. They were pretty uninspiring. Even the ones that I normally like are sort of boring at the moment--this awful same-y edginess in every one of them. I should have just bypassed the magazines for the Southern history section.
After that we took blog photos, and then had sushi for dinner and went to see Bruno, which was probably the second movie I'd seen in a theater in three years. I normally hate going to the movie theaters since I can't sit still and I'm no good at appreciating new movies, but I couldn't pass Bruno up. It's a good sort of movie for people like me who have an immature sense of humor and maybe a case of A.D.D.

Today was a lot lazier--we made one trip to a thrift store, and then came home and rested, watching It Happened One Night on TCM. Now it's half-storming out . . . Weather.com is giving us a "Significant Weather Alert," and I think it may be hailing out, and suddenly storm watching at the window seems a lot more fun than blog post writing!

I especially love the last photo -- Drew is the king of lens flare! He is a great photographer (and you, of course, are an awesome model).

i was just last nite strolling past a prada store window, and found myself admiring a sock and sandal combo. you pull it off nicely!! xo s
That last photo is so lovely! Also, I wouldn't have expected you to be the type to like Bruno, but that's awesome!
I love the photos! The light is so beautiful and the outfit suits the setting so well. I've never been to the Prado, but it looks beautiful. Your posts always inspire me to look past the suburban bleakness of Atlanta and go exploring new and pretty hidden places.
Hope you made it through the storms okay! We lost power a couple of times but it was kind of exciting and all that rain made it feel very cozy. :)
You look adorable in this dress! And I'm loving the socks with the shoes :)

wow that last photo is amazing, it looks like a lovely place.x
I love that dress! The sleeves are my favorite part, what a nice little detail. I'm originally from Georgia & I haven't been to half of the neat places you find around Atlanta. You've inspired me to take a road trip!
That dress is perfect on you!! Your day sounds like it was just wonderful!
Oooh that forest-y photo is gorgeous!
I can't wait for Summer Under the Stars next month on TCM! I love it because it usually forces me to watch a few things that I never would have paid attention to otherwise. I have Netflix but I'm just so laaaazy about it, if there's a marathon of something on I almost always watch it, haha.
i love that dress!
you always have the most lovely weekends!
I'm always so impressed by your photos. The atmosphere is perfect and your clothes are so unique.

I absoultly adore all the photos in your blog! I am a new ...blogger? Anyway this blog is quite inspiring and I am more then taken with the photographs. Whenever I get married I want this photographer to take the pictures! He always takes such lovely shots *smile* I suppose it doesn't hurt that he's got such a great model in such beautiful clothes!
Yet another gorgeous outfit! What a beautiful pattern and the sleeves are lovely!
You really don't shirk any effort getting to a great location :-)
you saw Bruno!! Rhi, have you seen Borat? it is so crude and funny. I love the tricks he plays on people who have no idea who he is.
you look gorgeous as always! It Happened One Night will always remind me of you.
Oh gosh, you look ah-mazing!!! That dress couldn't look any more wonderful on you!!! Ah, and socks with shoes!!!! It looks so adorable on you! Everything is perfect and gorgeous...you're wonderful! :) Ooh, and both days sound so lovely! It Happened One Night is my very, very favorite!! I must've seen in more than three times now, but every time I still love it more!

Rhiannon, you might try this:

-In the Enter Location box, use exactly- Atlanta, GA
-On the zoom icon, set the indicator up either 2 or 3 lines
-Click animate to see moving loop
-Move transparency setting to extreme left
Over time, I've found this more accurate than anything else.

I'm sure this will get lost in the many comments- but I always find your clothing and photos so inspiring. I'm a fall type of girl and I usually wear a lot of vintage but dark colors. Your good sense of style and cute posts make me hunt for a little color :) And wow, Atlanta is gorgeous.
Beautiful dress!!Your pictures are so wonderful!
I want to watch Bruno too :)
That is one of the most beautiful summer dresses I have ever seen! And I love how the pictures just captured the sun rays. What a beautiful and perfect summer afternoon.
Looking cute - love the dress!
I awarded you the "Great Read" blog award today! Check it out :)

Beautiful Beautiful dress. You look gorgeous

I agree about the magazines. It gets harder and harder to find interesting quality magazines. Peppermint of course being an exception! xx
Those Pierre hardy Gap shoes are marvelous. I want to see Bruno! I'm not sure if I'll like it (never seen Borat, likely never will) but it'll be good for cheap easy laughs.
could thse pictures get any more beautiful? and now they're getting more panoramic. amazing. it looks like you are in the jungle.
oh. i meant to say also that i think there is a lull between seasons with magazines. where no one really knows where we are going. and a lull ever 3 or 5 years or so. when people want a new thing but don't know what it is. and the recession is making for odd magazine editorials too. less risk taking? less colour? wanting to provide fantasy but not wanting to insult people's monetary struggles with an excessive show of wealth.
Your dress is utterly lovely!!!! :)
