Lazy Wednesdays and Southern Porches

Photos by Drew! (the second photo is of his porch--isn't it the prettiest?)

This isn't a real outfit post--I'm still feeling kind of out of it and my photo face is looking even worse than usual, but I bought this dress to sell in the store and just had to wear it once.  It kind of reminds me of those '20s ones I talked about yesterday . . . .  loose and floral print, with subtle ruffles at the neckline.  Good for lazy summer evenings like the one I had tonight . . .  I was going stir-crazy in my apartment so I drove to Atlanta to visit Drew, and we cooked out and watched television (he watched the Tour de France while I went to another room to watch some nerdy history program on PBS) and ate cookies and made jokes, and I really am feeling a bit better now.  But obviously still not quite up to writing a decent blog post!

Here's a terrific one, though:  my sister just did a little online interview with one of our big blogger crushes, Alexandra of Gluda Finds Lulu.  You can find it here!

You look like the picture of how to spend a Southern afternoon and evening... :) I've always wanted a porch swing, and seeing these photos is making me covet one even more! ;) lol.

That dress is utterly gorgeous! Even before I read your post, I thought "it screams silent film star"! :)

aww i read the interview that's awesome!
and wow this dress is perfect!!! those antique malls you sent me to were a dream! and in response to your comment on my blog:
I also thought Dollywood would be about 30$ and was only willing to spend the money because it was a vacation type of expense...but 55$ was just way out of my price range, and I didn't even think about trying to sneak in! Jeez I wish I had your sneaky brain!

So cute! The chipping paint reminds of my old back porche. I keep eyeing those shoes over here at Urban Oufiters but I am so damn poor!

you always make me appreciate the dresses that I would normally overlook, it looks precious on you. your sisters interview was amazing, i'm so glad she introduced me to alexandra. her designs are my favorite now!

also, saw you on the cover of peppermint magazine. the outfit your wearing is the BEST. love the bow tie.

the tour is still going on! how long does that thing last? I just started a free month of blockbuster's netflix rip off and ordered some james joyce and f scott fitzgerald documentaries! you should do it too, you can get a whole month free if you sign up with a visa.

you look really pretty! I love that ruffle at the neckline, and the pattern. and rufus!! drew's porch is a great place for pictures. the ivy with the paint peeling looks beautiful together.

I hope you're doing better today, sister! I know how crappy it can be getting stir crazy. and thank you for linking to my post :)

The dress looks gorgeous! I have a crippling addiction to floral-print vintage dresses, much to the dismay of my boyfriend and our shared closet.
