This last photo isn't necessarily a summer look. I just put it up for the shoes. I just placed an order for these sandals from Remix Vintage Shoes and they are scarily similar. I love the old-fashioned daintiness of them, but when I showed them to Kumar he burst out laughing and said that they look like something an old lady would wear! I couldn't really get mad because I guess he's right, and it's probably the reason why I like them so much. They're pretty much the opposite of the gladiator sandals that are bound to be everywhere this summer and I guess it's my silly way of rebelling.

i'm obsessed with eras too, particularly the 1920s. my dream is to own a wardrobe ofclothes from every decade of the 20th century. *sigh* one day. love the blog!
I’ve always loved dresses from that era there is something about them I find very appealing, however my personal obsession is the eighties I just cant get enough if trashy eighties vintage clothes, ;)
In love with the 3rd picture!
I'm obsessed with the 40's at the moment too. About to go and get my hair cut and thinking of going with radical 40's layering. This is a great collection of photos. If you are loving the hair, I'd recommend You Tube for some great vintage hair tutorials. As for the sandals - Go for it!
Oh if i could have ANYTHING in the world it would be a time machine.
Yes Athens was so mush fun! I am obsessed with looking for some Ferragamos in my size now! Sorry it took so long for me to get back to your comment!

these are great inspiration photos!!! I simply adore the 1940s; I think I really like the trim, sportiness of it. ;) I've got quite a little collection of '40s ephemera going on (including my newly-acquired lot of 3 1947 Seventeen mags--I'm going to share some of the amazing images on my blog next week! :D). never ceases to inspire!
I love your blog! It's beautifull!
oh i really love the first two!
Great pix.
You've introduced me to a very dangerous, time-consuming new addiction. What an enabler!
Seriously, though, I can't wait to see how you incorporate those granny-tastic shoes into your wardrobe. I'm sure it'll be great!
Hey! I love your blog and I wanted to know if I could get your email address so I could invite you to mine.

Well you've actually given me much inspiration for my Secret Garden Party theme...(it's a music festival in the UK where fancy dress is heavily encouraged!)
Yes, I too will rebel against the atrocity of the gladiator scandal.
j'adore !
I absolutely love 1940's-1960's bathing suits. So feminine and shapely.
wonderful :) I love the bathing suits!

Wonderful! Those sandals are really great; I'm so glad you found a pair you like, since I know you were looking!
I love 30's and 40's photos also... Great selection.
these photos are so inspiring. i love to imagine who those women were and what they did. (: i also think those sandals are a bit granny-ish, but probably really cute on you.
ooh lovely! Thanks so much for posting! Lately I've really been into the 30s and 40s and these pictures are just so wonderful! I especially covet the shoes from the 40s! I would love to get my hands on some vintage kedettes...
thanks for always inspiring!
xx
Don't worry we are all guilty of spending countless hours scouring photos on flickr!
I love vintage clothing. My favorite era is the 1950s followed by the 1940s. I do love the glamour of those eras.
Lovely pictures!
