More southern thrift store finds . . .

I'm finding that Southern thrift stores are a lot different than ones in the Midwest, at least here in Georgia. So I've been driving all over the northern part of the state trying to find the best ones--as in Illinois, the very best thrift stores I've found here are in the suburbs. Lots around Atlanta, mainly the huge Value Villages and America's Thrift stores that take forever to go through, but have good prices and usually a gem or two hidden among the racks and racks of shoulder-padded '80s dresses and '90s fake leather shoes.

I usually end up buying around 5 things to sell in the store on each thrifting trip I take, which isn't a lot at all. Most of the time it's slim pickins' in the stores, but then again the vintage pieces I do come across are usually much better than the things I found in the Midwest. I'm finding a lot more '60s dresses and coats than I ever used to, and there are some amazing shoes. On today's trip I even let myself keep two pairs that I bought . .. I think they're both from the '60s, and the black pair is especially great because of the ribbon bows . . .

Vintage Fiesta ware for my too-bare apartment . . . . For some reason the set only had cups and saucers in it, which I don't really need, but the colors were too good to resist.

I found this little '60s dress in a thrift store up in the northern part of the state, near the mountains. I kind of want to keep it, but I shouldn't.

(you can see my living room in the background . . . I think I may have to take pictures of my apartment and post them here so I can get some decorating advice. So far I have no idea what to do!)

as for interior inspiration, you could perhaps try apartmenttherapy.com or designsponge.com. i am constantly being inspired by both!

I can't think of who it is right now, but you definitely remind me of the girls painted by a certain artist. It will come to me...

Lots of photo's and paintings you love to fill those walls. Its very cream... and needs colour. (thats my opinion!) I have a red chinese lantern in my house, vintage curtains and lots of photo's and paintings. My floors and walls are cream, but have been able to add lots of colour and character this way:)
