Forget about neutrals . . . I'm hooked on color again, for now.

Leave it to Monica over at The Midwasteland to come across and photograph what is probably the best sweater dress I've ever seen . . .

I go to Chicago on a fairly regular basis (I live out in the suburbs a ways), mostly for concerts in the indie-indie sections, and hardly ever see fashion on the streets that really inspires me or that goes beyond typical hipster fare . . .

But The Midwasteland shows Chicago to be an entirely different kind of place, filled with fashionable tourists, wonderfully half-crazy geriatrics (I mean that in the best way possible--I love them), and girls with adorable vintage dresses, of which this one has to be the best, made even better by the fact that it originally belonged to the girl's mother.

So right now I'm looking for colorful sweaters and sweater dresses in a season filled with neutrals and all of those '70s Biba-style "sludgey" shades.

And as usual, I'm finding that my best bet is vintage. Take for example this great glam rock apple-print sweater from Emmapeelpants vintage on Ebay:
I was going to keep this one a secret so that I could bid on it myself, but, really, I'm moving soon and can't be buying more clothes. So again I'm going to plead, please bid it up! To some absolutely ridiculous price, because otherwise I really think I'm going to buy it.

Valuska, only 26 dollars is practically criminal for a dress that great . . . thanks for the link, btw. I love that Ebay store!

Jackie, thanks so much! :)

Swandiamondrose, me too! I think a machine would be the way to go--I can't imagine knitting an entire dress, especially one with colorwork, ugh.
